I don't wanna work -- I just want to ride in the car all day

Today was a great day to not work, not that EVERY day isn't a great day to not work. Oh, I went to work, but I only technically “worked” for about 3 hours. If by “worked” you mean “sat at my desk and read blogs.” Then, since my boss is out of town, my co-worker and I decided that it would be a lovely day for a good long drive in her convertible. So after a stop at Ann Taylor Loft (yes, it’s an illness), we set out and drove up through Boulder and all around the Flatirons. Oh how I love the joys of a three hour lunch. Also, I love how when we left work, it was like 85 degrees, and as we drove around the foothills, it actually dropped to 66 degrees. Once we left the hills, it was back to 80 degrees. Only in Colorado. I love it here. The trees are green – everything’s green, for once – and there are so many pretty wildflowers in bloom everywhere. And all of this viewed from a convertible. In a tank top and bare feet. It's most definitely my kind of working. Employee of the month, here I come!

And now that we’re back, I’m “cleaning up my email” (or “writing a blog” as the case may be) and then I’m leaving. I have some stuff to do before I leave for the big excursion tomorrow. What kind of stuff I don’t know, but it probably entails cleaning my house so that when my mom comes to take care of the cats while I’m gone, she won’t be like “how do you live in this MESS” when I come home. Because to her, this MESS is a pair of shoes left in the living room. Whatever – I know that when I come back, my house will be cleaner than when I left. As I’ve said before, I come by my OCD honestly.

So adios, amigos. I’m sure I’ll have all kinds of tales to tell about the trip. And some pictures. Since I’ve done this many times before, I can assure you that, yes, hijinks will ensue.

Looking forward to the shenanagans and brew-ha-has. Also, the kerfuffles and tomfoolery, in addtion to the hi-jinx.
